Nieko Torres
Nieko Torres is a Senior Performance Coach at the University of Louisville, where he leads the planning and execution of strength, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning programs for Baseball and Men’s Golf. His coaching approach prioritizes long-term athlete development, movement quality, and individualized programming to enhance performance while reducing injury risk.
At Louisville, Nieko collaborates closely with athletic training, sports nutrition, sports psychology, physical therapy, team physicians, and sport coaching staffs to support a comprehensive health and performance model. His work has contributed to competitive success at the highest level, including a 2025 Men’s College World Series Final Four appearance and a 2025 Men’s Golf regional appearance in his first year on staff.
Previously, Nieko served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Tulane University, where he was directly responsible for Baseball, Track & Field, and Women’s Tennis. During his tenure, Tulane Baseball captured the 2023 and 2024 AAC Tournament Championships. He also supported athlete rehabilitation, return-to-play processes, and departmental operations.
Nieko also held the role of Director of Olympic Sports Performance at Florida A&M University, overseeing performance training, athlete wellness, nutrition support, and rehabilitation coordination across multiple Olympic sports. He played a key role in developing the department’s internship program and supporting conference championship teams in Men’s Golf and Women’s Volleyball.
He began his collegiate strength and conditioning career at Mississippi State University as a Graduate Assistant and Strength and Conditioning Fellow, working with Baseball, Golf, Tennis, and various Olympic sports, contributing to multiple NCAA postseason appearances, including Omaha runs with Baseball.
Nieko earned a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Health Education from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Exercise Science from West Virginia University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Precision Nutrition certified, and holds CPR/AED and OnBaseU Pitching Level 1 certifications. His coaching philosophy centers on developing resilient, high-performing athletes through intentional training, collaboration, and education.

Brandon Torres
Brandon Torres is a sports performance professional in his seventh year at the University of New Haven and his second year at Vital Strength and Performance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from William Paterson University, a master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of New Haven, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
At the University of New Haven, Brandon serves as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance and played an integral role in the department’s transition from Division I to Division II. He contributed to the development of the university’s $16 million Peterson Performance Center and has supported multiple NE10 Conference championships in football, baseball, women’s tennis, and women’s volleyball. In his current role, Brandon designs and implements sport-specific strength, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning programs, oversees athlete monitoring and performance data, manages graduate assistants and interns, and assists with return-to-play, sport nutrition, and facility operations.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Brandon has worked extensively in the private sector with youth, high school, collegiate, and adult populations. Through his work at Vital Strength and Performance and Grind Sports Performance, he focuses on improving strength, mobility, functionality, and long-term athletic development. Earlier in his career, Brandon gained Division I experience interning with the football programs at Monmouth University and Mississippi State University, further strengthening his foundation in high-performance training and athlete development.
